A friend had envied the earlier travels we'd done, but said they couldn't travel because of their young children. Years later, with children of our own, we just had to give it a go. Would it be possible? Could the enjoyment outweigh the difficulties? With children aged just 2 and 3, quickly out of (reusable) nappies, ejected from pushchairs and not yet in school, we set off!
Two Purses
20 months, twice round-the-world
Oh, those heady days before children ... when we still dared to camp with bears, swim with piranhas and eat all-too-identifiable insect life! Yet it still took six years of excuses before I agreed to throw in the job, don the backpack and set off twice round the world with my (now) husband. We never looked back.
