A-level Maths
My son, lower sixth maths, found his first term at 6th Form College very challenging & was not performing at the required level. After discussion, he was extremely happy to enrol with Dr Spice. I felt highly confident: she is highly enthusiastic & diligent in her approach to tutoring. Dr Spice assessed my son & discussed with him the plan to assist & encourage him with his curriculum. He has been very positive & finds the tutorials very beneficial, including online, which worked out really well. Amanda helped my year 8 daughter with Biology and Physics. She brought Science to life with various experiments and explained things repeatedly until they sank in. She was very diligent in her preparation for lessons, undertaking extensive research for resources, and was great at going over things in new ways to ensure understanding. Science Workshops

DIGESTION: The children thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of viewing, questioning and participating in the story of digestion. The use of everyday materials, along with the chance to manipulate them to model the process, made it all the more exciting! Using appropriate vocabulary and allowing for challenge of those who can learn at greater depth, this workshop is a valuable teaching resource. Many children learn better with visual experiences especially when the subject such as digestion is somewhat abstract – this workshop provides an excellent opportunity to really get to grips with what actually goes on inside their bodies!

My daughter LOVED the science club with you, it really enhanced her interest. She often finds group teaching and science boring, but she was well up for your sessions. I love the way you incorporated so much experiential learning, especially culminating in the indoor skydiving. If only all science teaching in primary was like that!

The weekly science club was very well planned, organised and delivered, with both indoor and outdoor experiments, thinking and doing, and a good range of pure and applied topics. The children developed enthusiastically and confidently, were proud to receive their well-earned awards, and then used their new skills during ‘science week’ to lead exciting experiments with our younger classes.
