My latest workshop blends science and sustainability, enrichment and the national curriculum. A full day for 30 children in Years 5-6, combining child-led practicals and ‘whole-class movement’ demonstrations to investigate renewable energy sources, electric and hydrogen powered cars, and energy saving (home insulation and turning down the thermostat), whilst enhancing the students’ science skills and techniques.

With my scientific and Met Office background (research knowledge of global warming), passion in addressing environmental concerns, and experience of delivering primary school science, this workshop is one I'd love to share with your students ... and you may even be eligible to apply for a British Science Association grant  as the workshop meets the criteria.

I can fit 4 classes in one school day, or hold 3 class sessions and end with a larger or whole-school session.. I've even delivered the Y10 version of my 'digestion' workshop 6 times across 1 day in a local grammar school.

Could your children benefit from a science club like this?

​

Available to NW Hampshire primary schools and home school groups, my fun 1hr science clubs are hands on, child led and a great introduction to problem-solving in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths). Normally run as a 10-week club across a school term, with the additional option of an exhilarating half-day finale.

All children who commit and complete the required minimum number of sessions will achieve the highly regarded CREST SuperStar award (certificate) as part of the British Science Association’s (BSA's) flagship education programme. In recognition of the children's success, I'm very happy to make an extra visit into school (at no charge) to say a few words and present the awards individually to the children at a school assembly or similar.

My all-in fee is £140 per 1 hr session, typically invoiced half-termly in advance and payable using Hampshire's IBC system, with schools collecting parental payments. If the optional finale is selected, an additional fee of approx. £30-£40 per child is payable to the external provider, but I don't charge for my additional time.
